Printer Technician

MAAX is currently looking for a printer technician responsible of maintaining, improving and implementing new products on our manufacturing lines.

Working hand in hand with Industrial Designers and Graphics Designers, Engineering, Marketing and Operations, the technician will be responsible of maintaining, improving and implementing new products on our manufacturing lines. The role is hands-on and includes programming, automation, dealing with 3rd party equipment manufacturers, imagery equipment, color calibration, software and hardware selection to obtain high quality products required by MAAX.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Hand-on role with the candidate performing various tasks to achieve exceptional customer experience with the product
  • Develop solutions to improve the line output
  • Development, calibration & maintenance processes for imagery equipment
  • Find ways to improve speed of implementation and enable usage of same source images on multiple production lines to meet the specification requirements
  • Participate in Kaizen and other improvement projects involving the production line
  • Develop new solution and technologies to achieve the product specification
  • Support manufacturing locations in West Virginia and Texas
  • Responsible for the execution and renewal of local support contracts

Professional Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum level of education and/or specialization:

  • High school education required: Associate degree or other similar training is preferred.
Minimum relevant experience required:
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Photoshop image technician or similar role.
Specific skills and requirements: (competencies critical to the incumbent’s success)
  • Highly curious and hungry to find and assimilate information to solve problems
  • Play on the screen with color scheme (Photoshop, Adobe Suites, ICC profiles, Gamut, etc..) – up and running with Adobe suite
  • Control RIP Software (preferably Wasatch)
  • Experience in color profiling / Knowledge of ICC profiles (preferably I1 profiler)
  • Some understanding of the physics concept behind optics
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English
  • Strong safety acumen
  • Strong problem solving skills – using a systematic approach
  • Strong organization skills; ability to satisfy numerous constituents

  • Strong link with Customer Service, Quality Assurance and Outside suppliers
